SUMMARY Performs bookkeeping functions such as accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable and general ledger by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. PrimaryPrepares aging accounts payable and forwards to Director of Finance prior to weekly check runs.Prints all general ledger and accounts payable reports.Assists with preparation of 1099s at the end of the year. Monitors leave time balances.Reconciles health insurance invoices.Maintains open PO spreadsheet.Files check copies and batch control sheets.Monitors budgets for available funding. Posts and monitors PO's in Financial Edge software.Processes A/P weekly.Assists auditor in the compilations for the audit.Provides technical assistance in fiscal and computer operations.Performs miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required in the position or as directed by the Director of Finance or Executive Director.Transportation of fiscal documents.Cross trains with HS Accountant to support certain HS related activities. SecondaryAssists with the maintenance of vendor certificates of insurance.Provides backup support to Administrative AssistantVerifies employee personal auto insurance policy to maintain compliance with policy manual.Provides backup support to HS Accountant for HS draws via Payment Management System (PMS).QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) in Accounting, Finance, General Business, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Incumbent must demonstrate working knowledge of a desktop computer, related software, calculator, printer, copier, fax, and phone. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must submit to random drug screenings. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license.
