Summary:
The Bookkeeper is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction.
He/She is responsible for accurately balancing all tills, pull cash, cash deposits and safe.
He/she is also responsible for properly posting all media to proper accounts and ensuring the integrity of the store's cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guestSeparate and print all reports, as well as file, transmit or send all necessary documents to the store support centerVerify and count all pull cash for the deposit from the previous day's sales.
Prepare all deposits for the bank, including: Western Union, Money Orders, Utilities, Checks, etc.Balance each checker till and keep an accurate total of each checker's over/short for the dayPost all tenders and media to the proper accountsBalance the safe against our Store Reconciliation Report (SRR) and get an accurate over/short for the total storeMay be called upon to act as front end help, such as checking, sacking and guest serviceMay perform general office secretarial functions as needed or requested by management including invoice processing, return check processing, etc.May be required to perform Service Counter tasksPerforms other duties as requested or required by management
Key Requirements:
High School education or equivalent requiredPrevious bookkeeping experience preferredMust possess strong organizational skillsPrevious checking and service counter training is essential in understanding the entire bookkeeping processStrong math and computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel are helpfulAbility to work in an efficient and controlled mannerAbility to perform 10 key operations for calculator and money processing machines, and familiarity with computers and computer keyboard operationsAll Service Counter, Checker, and Sacker requirements applyAbility to function as a team member and get along with others
