Location Description:
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Responsibilities:
#firstinpeople 2nd Shift POSITION SUMMARY : This position will operate automatic box erection, flap control, bag insertion and labeling equipment.
Qualifications:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and clean, if necessary, all equipment prior to the scheduled start time to ensure on time start-ups. Operate a case erector, flap controller, bag inserter and two (2) labeling machines. Will provide the correct packaging materials to the four (4) belt ovens. Requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Perform quality checks on product being produced, ensuring correct packaging has the correct label and barcode; that boxes are sent to the proper line; and make necessary system adjustments to ensure customer and company specifications are being met. Requires the ability to differentiate between products by SKU# Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Adhere to all safety polices and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to attain forklift certification. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
