Brand Planner

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting Short/long range financial objectives of the brand.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides support related to the development, execution, and communication of strategic merchandise financial plans, with a focus on sales, margin, inventory, and operational metrics.
• Provides support related to total brand and individual channel pre-season planning process, including but not limited to: long range forecasting of sales and margin, mix impacts of full price versus markdown sales as well as determining potential drivers of sales performance (e.g. units, AUR, traffic, conversion, etc.).
• Assists with development of sales, margin, and inventory forecasts as they pertain to Corporate short/long range plan.
• Partners with Planning, Merchandising and Marketing to execute promotional pricing and markdown strategies; communicates effectively and appropriately to business owners and management on reporting results and data issues
• Reviews promotional strategies and propose pricing recommendations.
• Serves as a liaison between various departments. Develops and administers markdown cadence calendars through partnering with Store Ops and Planning, and visual.
• Support the development of pre-season financial architecture, including positioning of AUR, AUT, AUC, IMU, inventory turn, etc.
• Prepares and support of materials for monthly executive business review.
• Inventory reviews and analysis, including period comparisons, impact of AUC, and estimation of shrink impact.
• Prepares and supports weekly and monthly executive reporting and analysis.
• Assist with other special projects as needed.
This position may be found in multiple brands. Some duties may vary from brand to brand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in finance, economics, business, or statistics
• 3+ years in a retail/consumer goods environment, with preference given to those with merchandise planning, finance, or allocation experience (Technology or SAP pricing experience preferred)
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills concisely presents complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to various audiences
• Strong problem solving, business analysis and quantitative skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; exceptional aptitude with numbers; retail math skills
• Builds collaborative partnerships cross-functionally; identifies/influences critical stakeholders
• Ability to advance to high levels of computer literacy, exposure to relevant planning, finance, analytical, data management systems
• Charismatic team player that exhibits excellent "teamwork" abilities
• Ideal candidate will have strong PC proficiency with a strong emphasis in Excel, Access a plus
