Building Automation Systems Technician (Bas)

JOB SUMMARY:

Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technicians install, repair, and commission computer-based control systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), chiller plants and energy management systems. Technician will interface with customers to service our client's BAS needs. Support miscellaneous UO Maintenance and Ride/show department electronic/energy management needs. Coordinate with Operations personnel to identify and analyze system problems. Monitor Honeywell Fire Alarm Life Safety Systems.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform maintenance for BAS, fire alarm life safety systems, security systems and card access systems site-wide. Perform system monitoring and trending, troubleshooting and program changes to the BAS as required and coordinates with contracted service firms for more extensive modifications.
Perform daily hot/cold quick calls to ensure guest/team member comfort while maintaining maximum energy efficiency and system performance. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC BAS software/hardware system components to ensure efficient operation.
Makes recommendations for system program changes and upgrades to ensure maximum system performance and ensure maximum energy conservation to systems site-wide. Communicate system changes to HVAC and affected departments.
Perform building fire alarm inspection and testing in accordance with NFPA requirements. Perform fire alarm and associated system maintenance per Maximo PM Schedule.
Supports miscellaneous Maintenance and Ride & Show department electronic maintenance as needed.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or GED required
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

7+ years BAS control technician experience required.
Experience with computer-based software required.
Honeywell EBI Life Safety maintenance/monitoring preferred;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Florida Driver's License required to operate company vehicles.
Niagara Framework Technical Certification (Preferred), Johnson Controls Metasys (ADS/ADX) (Preferred), Honeywell or any other BAS/DDC System (Preferred).
