What you need to know Hourly Pay Rage $29.17Monday Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Full Time (40 hours per week), Temporary Assignment (3-12 months)Located in MesaBenefits Available Medical, Dental, Vision, Term Life, Short-Term Disability What youll be doing Responsible with the construction and development process by reviewing and assessing building plans to ensure they comply with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
You will be responsible for Plan Review; Examine building plans and specifications for compliance with applicable building codes, ordinances, and regulations while verify, identify and document discrepancies, errors, or non-compliance issues in submitted plans.Code Compliance; Interpret and apply building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations to construction plans while providing guidance on code requirements to applicants and stakeholders.Communication and Coordination; Communicate required changes to architects, engineers, and builders, collaborate with other departments, such as zoning and environmental, to address project-related concerns, facilitate the permit approval process by providing feedback and recommendations for plan modifications.Documentation and Reporting; Prepare and maintain accurate records of reviewed plans, correspondence, and decisions ensuring all approvals and permits are documented and processed.
Customer Service; Address questions and concerns from the public and stakeholders regarding building codes and permit processes while providing clear explanations and technical advice to help applicants understand and resolve issues.Inspections; Conduct and document site inspections as needed to verify that construction work complies with approved plans and codes.Other duties as assigned. What skills & experience youll bring to us High school diploma or GEDAny combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to good (1 - 3 years) building inspection or plans review, which involves the review of construction documents for conformance with construction codes.Certification from International Code Council (ICC) or any major model code organization, and supplemental coursework in construction technology and blueprint reading are highly desirable.American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certificate, Membership in the American and/or Arizona Planning Association is preferred.Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction practices.Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
