DPP is seeking a Business Analyst for an opportunity in Lansing, Michigan.
Work arrangement:
Hybrid: 2 days/week onsite (typically Wednesday and Thursday), 3 days/week remote.
No remote only option.
W2 position; 12 months with extension likely.
Local candidates only (must be within 2 hours of Lansing, MI).
Position description:
The Software Business Analyst (BA) will help maintain a web application supporting the Michigan Department of Education's (MDE), Office of Educator Excellence (OEE) Systems.
The BA will assist with Requirement Analysis, Functional Design and Testing documentation for all systems, Processes, Data flows, and Services impacted by the project.
The BA should have a high level of experience in collecting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, creating the functional requirements, end-to-end testing, bug tracking, and coordination/communication skills with state agency stakeholders, and DTMB team members.
Relevant IT system integration experience is needed.
The Business Analyst will work closely with business users and the development teams to analyze business requirements, document requirements, and provide feedback on the actual system implementation of the business logic.
This BA will set up the Agile sprint processes for this project and run the Agile sprint meetings.
This position supports the development team on the project by providing requirements clarification, removing roadblocks in the development process.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Exposure to Complex IT web Applications, within the past 10 years (Required 10 years)
Experience in a role supporting a software development project, within the past 10 years (Required 10 years)
Experience working with educational data systems (Required 6 years)
Ability to conduct meetings, communicate at a level appropriate to the audience, make oral and written reports and presentations (Required 10 years)
Experience in a professional office environment (Required 10 years)
Proficiency with MS Office and Visio (Required 10 years)
Experience working as a liaison between the development team and project manager or business client in a software development project (Required 10 years)
Preferred KSAs:
Knowledge and understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) (5+ years)
Project management skills and knowledge in project management and related methodologies (5+ years)
