We're seeking a Business Analyst Summer Intern to help our Project Services team define, plan, and implement a diverse set of projects within the technology organization.
You'll work with a large team of project managers and business analysts, a driven set of software developers, and business and technology leaders from across the company.
You'll engage with teams who have a passion for agile software development and balance that with the application of sound business analysis and project management practices.
You'll be part of a team environment where you can learn and help launch best-in-market products to our organization's internal and external customers.

This position will require 2-3 days in our Virginia office, subject to change with future business needs.

As a Business Analyst Intern in our well-established internship program, you will: Work directly with project managers and business analysts in the Project Services team to help deliver technical products across team specialties (Product Development, Corporate Infrastructure, Corporate Applications, and Business Intelligence & Analytics)Gain experience in how a business analyst works with a software development teamCreate process mapsLearn about the agile software development processWrite product requirements/user stories and use JIRA to manage themParticipate in daily huddles to discuss user story specifics and project directionWork with end users and stakeholders (including senior leaders) to gather requirements and translate them into actionable items for the development teamHelp prepare presentations to share project information with end users and stakeholdersOwn specific initiatives and be held accountable for delivery, and also assist other team members with their tasksTroubleshoot user issues and develop solutionsGain a thorough understanding of how CARFAX works, both internally and from our customers' perspectives Requirements: Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in a business, technical, or technical writing major at an accredited universityA passion for data and data analysisExcellent writing and communication skillsAn outstanding work ethic and great people skillsSound time management and organization skillsExperience as a member of a project team (e.g.
from class projects, volunteer work, previous work experience, etc.
)Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Experience using web-based applications (e.g., communication tools like Slack and document sharing services)A willingness to jump in, learn, and lend a hand when needed NOTE: This position is intended for rising juniors and seniors currently attending college or University and able to work in our Centreville, VA office.
