SkyGrid, a Boeing, Avathon Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds ground based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services. SkyGrid is looking for a Business Area Manager within the Program Management Office who will fulfill a unique role managing subcontractors/vendors providing hardware, software, and/or data as a service in delivering the next generation of a complex airspace management system. Our preferred candidate will have experience with sourcing, and managing subcontractors of varying sizes in all phases of the program. If you have prior program management experience in defense or aviation industry and want to take on a non-traditional faster-pace aviation program, this is the right fit for you. In this role you will determine the right subcontractor needed for the program with the support of the engineering team, generate Statements of Work (SOWs), Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) and/or other contract documents necessary to secure the product or services from the suppliers, manage the delivery to ensure on time and on budget, and plan for sustainment when product completes entry into service. You must be comfortable with a level of ambiguity and figuring it out along the way. The end result will be the delivery of a product that meets customer needs as well as the company's strategic objectives.
\n Performance Objectives:Develop supplier requirements in collaboration with engineeringDevelop and sign contracts with all subcontract companies and manage them accordinglyEstablish and maintain industry relationships to facilitate engagement with potential suppliers across expansive categories in aerospace. Responsibilities:Generate necessary process and documentation for supplier managementGenerate necessary contract documentation for the customer managementPlan deliverables for each subcontractor in the IMS and track the performanceMay participate in new business proposals to develop schedule, manpower, and cost estimates from the supplier perspectiveUtilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention in supplier management areasPerforms risk analyses and Monte Carlo simulations for supplier risksIdentifies and resolves critical path for supplier and customer milestonesDevelop Statement of Work (SOW), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), Terms and Conditions of contracts with subcontract companiesPerform other tasks as necessary Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in business, accounting, finance or related disciplineMust be able to work in self-initiated basis and in a team environmentAbility to make sound decisions that may have significant monetary or schedule impact to the program 8+ years or more of related experience with the following:
A complete understanding of the concepts and practices involved in analyzing multiple contract types.Managing subcontractors with associated deliverablesExperience incorporating baseline changes, critical path analysis, resolving schedule execution metrics issues and author SDRL reporting.Demonstrates the ability to understand scheduling, planning and tracking proceduresMonthly plan reconciliation, risk assessments and "what-if" will be required.Must be an effective communicator and able to represent the company independently on programmatic matters, as well as able to write, interpret and explain issues.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project.
