The Position: Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team. This role oversees and integrates Business Development, Capture, Marketing, and Proposal efforts across the company. The ideal candidate brings significant experience with the federal sales cycle and is now seeking the opportunity to take ownership of the growth strategy. This position reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer.
\n Role Specific Duties:Identify and source opportunities, execute the capture process, pursue prospective contracts, and lead all involved parties to a winCreate and manage a pipeline of opportunitiesBuild relationships with strategic partners across our space; maintain customer relationships and strategic teaming partner relationshipsDevelop pricing and business development strategies: proposals, RFP responses, and sales presentationsCoordinates with Senior Management and functional departments in formulating strategy, leading proposal preparation, etc.Work closely with multiple teams and is responsible capturing new business as well as recompete effortsresponsible for opportunity strategy development and execution, and reporting progress toward achieving objectivesTracks the competition's business development activities and strategies, including pricing trends and approachesSupervise matrixed personnel supporting their assigned prospect including proposal managers, proposal staff, etc.Directs and actively participates in positioning the business development/capture strategy for specific prospectsPerforms special assignments related to business development activities Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 10+ years of demonstrated business development or account management experience which includes at least 5 years of federal account experienceExperience and an understanding of IT professional servicesDemonstrated ability to qualify and pursue strategic opportunities but also a highly resourceful team playerTake charge and be able to work independently with minimal directionDemonstrated experience working in a similar role exceeding designated sales targets/quotaExperience with an industry-standard federal account/capture management and proposal development methodologiesHighly organized with ability to manage several simultaneous opportunities at onceExpert level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with all levels of management
