Job Overview: We are seeking a self-motivated and passionate Business Development Professional with a proven track record of 10+ years of experience, specifically in Government and Federal contracts and Private Equity. Must have experience with Sam.Gov to allow navigating through opportunities and applying with Proposals on Contracts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth in Tennessee, focusing on building and nurturing strong relationships within the government sector. You will play a key role in developing and executing strategies that align with our outcome-driven sales goals. This role involves frequent travel and the ability to navigate complex procurement processes within the public sector. Roles & Responsibilities: Drive Sales Growth: Develop and implement a robust sales strategy focused on securing and expanding contracts with federal and state government entities.Relationship Building: Foster long-term relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and stakeholders in government and federal organizations.Government Contracting Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of federal and state contracting procedures, including RFP/RFQ processes, compliance, and negotiation tactics, to close deals effectively.Private Equity Expertise: Leverage the relationship with previous Private Equity experiences and relationship.Pipeline Development: Identify and qualify new opportunities within the government vertical, build a strong sales pipeline, and maintain accurate forecasts.Strategic Account Management: Manage existing government and federal accounts, ensuring client satisfaction while identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling services and products.Outcome-Driven Approach: Focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs with an emphasis on measurable outcomes and long-term contract success.Travel: Willing to travel frequently within Tennessee and occasionally across the U.S. to meet clients, attend industry conferences, and close high-value contracts.Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with internal teams such as product development, legal, and operations to ensure client requirements are met and contracts are executed seamlessly.Industry Networking: Attend government-related events, conferences, and networking sessions to stay updated with the latest industry trends and build new relationships. Qualifications & Skills: Experience: 10+ years of sales experience, with a major focus on government and federal contracts in the U.S. and Sam.Gov. Preferred Private Equity experience as well to avail of opportunities.Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and securing government contracts, with deep knowledge of the public procurement cycle.Quick Thinker & Problem Solver: Ability to think on your feet, navigate complex contracts, and overcome objections with creative solutions.Relationship Builder: Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for building trust-based relationships with government stakeholders and internal teams.Negotiation Skills: Proficient in contract negotiation and closing deals, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.Self-Motivated & Outcome-Driven: Passion for driving results with minimal supervision, taking ownership of the sales process from lead generation to contract closure.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to C-level executives and government officials.Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM tools, sales forecasting software, and other digital platforms used in sales tracking and communication.Industry Familiarity: Deep understanding of the processes, regulations, and unique requirements of the public sector in Tennessee and beyond.Preferred Skills: Experience in working within the IT, defense, or infrastructure sectors is a plus, with the ability to leverage industry-specific knowledge in closing deals.
