OVERVIEW: The Business Development Representative is responsible for achieving sales goals and executing sales plans within an assigned sales territory and/or account EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan and prioritize sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aimsResponsible for achieving sales targetsProvide knowledge and sales to our janitorial products, from supplies equipmentDetermine supply, chemical and equipment needs of current and prospective customersPerform onsite equipment and product demonstrations as well as training in product usage, practical applications and cleaning proceduresIntegrate sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, (promotions, advertising, exhibitions, telemarketing, social media marketing etc.
)Responsible to create annual Marketing Plan and revise accordinglyResponsible for the development of business proposals and bidsRequired to assist in the oral presentation of business proposals and bids as requiredMonitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and informationShould regularly attend client meetings, trade shows, networking events, conferences etc.Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfactionPerform other duties as requestedCommunicate a positive image of the company to the entire staff and customers QUALIFICATIONS: Ability To: Collaborate and influence internal and external shareholdersWrite reports, business correspondence and procedure manualsExecute prospecting strategies for discovering and closing new accountsKeep records of company contacts and sales callsProvide accurate and timely reports for project tracking and reportingHandle crisis management as situations occurWork on call and in all emergency situations as neededStrong verbal and written communication skillsManage details of multiple projects in an efficient and organized methodApply safety procedures and principles on a daily basis and protect yourself and others from injuryKnowledge of: Must have an excellent level of technical and selling knowledge in all areasGathering information for the industry and the company's competitionProper and appropriate phone skills and handling customer complaints and issuesIndustry software and Websites: Xactimate, Contractor Connection, PSA, Code Blue and other similar programsLaws, rules and regulations that govern the areas of your job, the restoration industry including but not limited to your scope of workSkyline ethics, image and goals and how they shall be reflected in the day to day job duties of you and your staffAll policies and procedures of Skyline, ability to apply and understandOSHA safety regulations of the industry and provide an active role in monitoring the safety of yourself and other team membersEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university or related work experienceMinimum three (3) years proven sales track record in commercial salesPrior knowledge of selling both a specific product and services preferredLicense and Special Requirements: Valid State driver's license PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various customers and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone.
This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required.
Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard.
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information.
Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, up to 50 pounds, necessary to perform job functions WORKING CONDITIONS: Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
