Salary: Typical hiring range for high cost of living locations (DC/CA/NYC): $55,772 - $74,363 Typical hiring range for all other locations: $47,407 - $63,209 Job Summary The Business Development Representative researches, generates, and qualifies leads from external inquiries. The position engages with prospects and supports the Sales team through various administrative and follow-up activities. The Business Development Representative manages multiple tasks simultaneously using Salesforce, including identifying potential leads, entering them into the system, and updating contact information.
Essential Functions Responsible for systematically locating and researching business contact information to support the sales team by exploring online directories, leveraging social media, attending networking events, and using email verification tools. Promptly follows up on potential leads and schedules meetings for the sales team as soon as a new lead reaches out. Generate a minimum of forty potential sales meeting opportunities per month. Collaborate with Director, New Business, and other internal/external stakeholders to develop sales campaign strategies. Provide service excellence to internal and/or external clients by responding quickly, appropriately, and accurately to communications. Under the guidance of the Director, New Business, build long-term, value-based relationships with accounts, maximizing the revenue they generate. Understand deeply, and with accuracy, the products, programs, events, and services provided. Demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs of stakeholders through frequent, timely, and tailored communications. Maintain an awareness of key stakeholders, changes in points-of-contact, and activities/interactions with other staff. Collaborate with the Director, New Business Development in securing new year-round partnerships with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies. Salesforce Management Work with Salesforce administrators and IT to support Salesforce management of new partner campaigns, reporting, and metrics. Manually enter new leads into Salesforce from various sources. Conduct initial introductory calls to new leads, set reminders, and create tasks for follow-up actions with leads. Regularly update the status of leads in Salesforce to reflect the current stage in the sales process. Generate and review reports on lead activity, conversion rates, and other key metrics. Identify and merge duplicate leads to maintain a clean and accurate database. Create and manage campaigns, add and import leads, and ensure effective follow-up and engagement with leads. Leverage opportunities from industry conferences to generate new business leads. Collaborate closely with internal team members to implement systems and processes in the overall management of the new business development pipeline. Assist in the monitoring and management of inbound leads across channels; qualify leads and assign to the sales team. Assist with reporting to show revenue for all products/programs/events. Attend national conferences and local networking events to secure new partners for our events and programs. Other Duties As Assigned Other duties as assigned include event support, professional development activities, and assisting with ad hoc projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or related field; equivalent amount of relevant experience can be substituted for degree. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. 1-2 years experience in Salesforce. Ability to think critically and problem solve. Physical Job Requirements This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position all of the time. Travel Requirements This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time.
