The Worldwide Defect Elimination (WWDE) organization in Customer Service (CS) drives Amazon towards the creation of a defect-free customer experience by building technology and mechanisms to detect, escalate, and eliminate customer experience defects before they impact customers. We are looking for a creative problem solver and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will help us build data pipelines, develop robust metrics, deliver deep-dive analysis, and assist science model development. This role requires an individual with strong business judgment, excellent analytical abilities, and the ability to work closely with Scientists, Engineers, and Business partners. Key job responsibilities: Design and implement metrics and dashboards to measure the success and effectiveness of science models by understanding the nuances and potential pitfalls.Apply analytic skill to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complicated data sets.Present deep dives and analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.Perform statistical analysis and statistical tests including hypothesis testing and A/B testing.Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation. A day in the life:In this role, you will work closely with science, engineering, and product teams to build data pipelines, develop and implement science model evaluation metrics, and support defect elimination science model development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field.Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.Proficient in descriptive statistics.Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field.Strong understanding of A/B testing, sampling methodologies, and other statistical analysis.Basic knowledge of Machine Learning and scientific modeling techniques. Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
