Typical Day in the Life As a Business Intelligence Developer, this role will perform analysis, design, development, and maintenance of business intelligence (BI) solutions for customers in the enterprise across multiple business lines and technical platforms. The BI Developer will collaborate with data engineers, business intelligence analysts, project managers and report end users to deliver internally developed BI and provide production support that will be highly adopted, modern, and accurately represents business performance. They will stay current with technologies both inside and outside the enterprise to enhance BI architecture, design, and development and advocate for the adoption of effective BI and analytics practices.
A typical day in the life may include the following:
· Develops interactive business intelligence reports and dashboards that represent KPIs, operating metrics, and business metrics, primarily in Power BI but other report delivery applications are in scope—using both certified enterprise data models and ad hoc compliant sources.
· Troubleshoots Bl tools, systems, and software; performance-tunes these applications as necessary.
· Administers workspaces and maintains data hygiene for an effective development, delivery, and access environment for both end users and developers.
· Designs advanced conceptual, logical, and physical data models, repositories, dashboards, and reports within a complete functional and technical architecture.
· Prepares key documentation to support report utilization and to promote data literacy.
· Write test plans, peer review teammates' deliverables, and collaborates on release management to meet acceptance criteria for production deployments/publishes.
Who You Are Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred. Equivalent related work experience will be considered. Experience in enterprise Power BI or similar tool report and data modeling development. Understanding of backend processing such as database methodologies as they pertain to data warehousing, modelling, and efficient business intelligence solutions. Ability to prepare complex data sets for the creation of dashboards. Ability to identify, research, and resolve technical problems associated with production BI applications. Analytical abilities to understand data and manipulate it across systems. Ability to work under deadlines with heavy workloads where errors may cause substantial delay, expense, inefficiency, and disruption of service to users. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Benefits and Compensation Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000
