JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Associate Business Officer in the College of Education, serves as Business Manager for the Department of Educational & Organizational Leadership Development. Analyzes budgets, reviews requests, makes recommendations to Chair, and monitors accounts. Prepares budgetary, accounting, procurement, revenue, HR transactions, and generates reports. Maintains high level of confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES: 35% - Essential - Financial Management: Coordinates all procurement, disbursement, and revenue activities for the department. Assists employees with BuyWays and P-card systems for ordering ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Prepares financial transactions for all funding sources following federal, state, CU, and college guidelines. Serves as Procurement card liaison. Serves as bBuyWays requisitioner and invoice handler. Ensures adequate funding is available prior to processing expenditures or reimbursements. Ensures all supporting documentation is maintained for valid and authorized purchases. Oversees deposits and reconciliations of revenues to ensure compliance with CU policies. Maintains auditable files. Attends required training.
25% - Essential - Sponsored Project Management: Manages sponsored programs accounts from award to close-out including required cost-sharing. Works closely with the college business office, college grants office, and Grants & Contracts Administration (GCA). Ensures PI approval is obtained on all expenditures and that expenditures are both allowable and allocable on the project to which they are being charged.
25% - Essential - Budgeting & Reporting: Prepares annual departmental budget including salary roll. Prepares budgetary actions such as amendments and revisions. Monitors expenditures, provides feedback to clear budget check errors, reviews funding requests from faculty and advises Chair. Reviews monthly detailed budget status reports and Statement of Changes and ensures transactions are accounted for properly. Prepares corrections as needed and promptly identifies discrepancies. Prepares reports as necessary to help Department Chair or other managers make informed financial decisions.
10% - Essential - Human Resources/Payroll Support: Reviews payroll ensuring proper distribution of pay. Prepares payroll corrections as needed. Reviews summer pay authorization forms for department faculty and monitors summer payroll. Coordinates earnings distribution changes with college HR Liaison.
5% - Essential - Department Support: Provides back-up to other college Business Managers when necessary and performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - High School or Equivalent - Professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION Anticipated Hiring Range: $37,900.00 - $54,615.75
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines .

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations. JOB LOCATION: Clemson, SC
