Responsibilities The Department of Information Technology (MCIT) is seeking a Business Relationship Director for its customer organization team. MCIT continues to be an increasing strategic enabler for Mayo Clinic, and as MCIT continues its Information Technology Transformation Program, roles within the ITBRM team are proving to enhance the work of IT in creating a positive experience for IT's customers/business partners.
The primary responsibility for the BRD in MCHS Wisconsin is two-fold:
The BRD will collaborate with their customer's strategic planning efforts, lead IT strategic planning for their customer, which not only meets their customer's business needs, but is in alignment with the overall IT strategy, and share ownership with their customer in the creation and realization of business value derived from IT.  Currently, a main focus for this activity will be to help IT to help enable MCHS' implementation of service lines across either MCHS, or MCHS MN and WI Regions. The BRD will be a position that bridges the gap between customers and technology service areas. The Sr. BRM provides direction and guidance to customers to enable the best information technology solutions that meet their business needs. They also provide feedback and guidance to IT Services service areas about customer successes and challenges, to better help improve IT solution needs and priorities.  This will often include engagement in various key operational processes, such as daily/weekly huddles, to help ensure technology challenges are understood and the right attention from across IT are brought together as needed.  Attention to each of the above two categories will vary in a monthly, and sometimes weekly basis. 
Position responsibilities fall into five categories:    
Relationship Management   Strategic Partnering   Advisory Services   Execution   Communication/Navigation     This position will report to the IT Customer Organization leader and will also have accountability to work with MCIT's service delivery areas. The expectation is to be readily accessible either virtually or in-person to customers in MCHS WI, as well as IT leadership. Location within the upper midwest is required; location within MCHS WI is preferred.
Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT STEM.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration or a related field is required. 
Total eight years of leadership experience required. This should be a combination of the following:
• Project management experience (PMP certification is highly preferred)
• IT operational management experience
• Customer domain operational/administrative experience
• Other leadership experience, determined to pertain to customer engagement
Relevant overall healthcare industry-specific operational experience required. This includes some level of working knowledge of clinic and hospital operations, and a level of proficiency with operations working knowledge for specific customer areas (clinical or administrative) which would ideally be related to the BRD position being hired.
Master's degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated physician administrative partner experience highly preferred.
Relationship-building capability with customers and key stakeholders at all levels (primary focus: customer senior executives, including administrative, and additionally key operational leadership). Ability to establish credibility and relevance with key physician leadership. Ability to gain credibility with business (clinical and/or administrative) executive community. Ability to demonstrate acumen in business and function discipline of customer area of responsibility: strong command of the customer's industry, and pertinent application domain knowledge 
Ability to set expectations with customer executive and senior management teams and leverage governance for a positive customer experience. Strategic thinking and ability to map organizational visions.
Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources. Ability to understand and integrate business/clinical strategies and trends in technology to deliver value. Understanding and use of business requirements gathering methodologies. Ability to distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements. Ability to drive business value results rather than purely IT applications or solutions.
Solid understanding of IT, HR and finance asset concepts and processes.
Ability to influence and break down silos within and across organizations.
Energy, focus, assertiveness and diplomacy.
Ability to negotiate conflict and problem-solving. (at executive leadership level)
Ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods.
Strong skills in writing, speaking and presenting to senior executives and below.
Very strong communication skills that effectively transcend both business and technical domains, and clearly can summarize needs from both domains. Humility, creativity, and willingness to accept ownership and responsibility.
Knowledge of product management concepts, as this continues to mature across Mayo Clinic.
Ability to navigate Mayo IT and customer governance and approval processes.
Ability to exhibit a high degree of decision making capability, and work independently, sometimes with minimal direction.
Ability to prepare executive/senior leadership communications.
Depending on individual customers, some travel may be required.
Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) certification is preferred Exemption Status
