Details of the offer

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Buyer I position works directly with our supplier partners.
This individual is responsible for purchasing items for stock, specials, and the introduction of new tools.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining current information in the ERP system, communicating with, and advising internal customers on purchase order statuses, as well as expediting to ensure customer expectations are met.
The Buyer I reports to the Manager of Production Planning.


IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Analyze inventory levels and execute corresponding purchase orders to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
Review and evaluate reports to determine stocking needs, backorders, and late orders, and take appropriate action.
Participate in return authorization evaluation and execution.
Supplier management including follow-up on late purchase orders and quality issues.
Review order Acknowledgments, confirming receipt of PO, price, and delivery within 24 hours.
Act as a liaison between suppliers and HPC Finance team to ensure invoices, payment terms, and payment methods are addressed and correct.
Communicate with other departments such as CFT, quality, sourcing, and fulfillment when questions or issues arise.
Other projects, continuous improvement activities, and daily tasks as required to support continued company growth.
YOU'LL BRING: Associates degree related to Business, Supply Chain, or 1 to 2 years previous production planning, scheduling, buying, or procurement experience.
Basic Excel and other MS Office software applications.
Knowledge and prior use of ERP systems, preferably Epicor Prophet 21 or Epicor Kinetic.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility and desire to take on additional responsibilities.
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
Ability to work with staff from multiple departments to implement change.
