POSITION SUMMARY
Purchase materials, components, supplies, services, etc.
essential to support operations.
Ensures that purchases are the required quality and quantity, at the most economical cost, and of timely delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage supply base to provide correct quantity, quality and price of products to support manufacturing.
Eliminate under-performing suppliers.
Item master setup and management for purchased parts.
Evaluate new and existing suppliers.
Track and report cost savings.
Continuously improve the procurement process to reduce total costs.
Review MRP outputs.
Support the production floor by ensuring on-time delivery of purchase orders.
Other assignments as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years of related experience with buying in a manufacturing environment
Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Experience with an ERP system (Infor/Baan preferred)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
1+ yrs of purchasing, buying, or expediting within a fast pace manufacturing/engineering environment.
Ability to read blueprints helpful
Knowledge of some type of ERP/MRP system.
Experience using Excel to run reports
Ability to be proactive/think on own.
