Kelly is seeking a Buyer to work with our client, an innovative manufacturer and global supplier to the automotive industry, on a direct hire basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable organization that is expanding and offering excellent growth potential!
The Buyer is responsible for the preparation and issuance of purchase orders for products and services that are used to maintain and fix broken machines. Specifically, the Buyer will: Ensure that Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) purchases are made in compliance and follow purchasing guidelines Source MRO materials for best pricing by requesting multiple quotes from vendors Source new MRO vendors for cost reduction initiatives Negotiate terms of purchase with MRO vendors, i.e. delivery time, expediting of critical purchases Track and log orders from ASN confirmation to receiving the goods or services Generate purchase orders (POs) with appropriate terms and conditions Follow up with MRO vendors on orders placed; verify delivery of items with logistics and receiving department Monitor MRO vendor performance to ensure quality of items purchased and service Act as a liaison for MRO vendors Oversee the maintenance of necessary records (warranties, specifications, detailed drawings as needed) Work within budget & project guidelines Coordinate purchasing and inventory activities of supplies with MRO vendors and receiving operations Generate purchasing reports specific to MRO detailing daily, weekly and monthly expenditures, number of PO's generated, number of PO's in process, current status of parts delivery and overall spending Qualifications: Minimum 3 years' experience MRO purchasing Manufacturing industry experience required Automotive manufacturing experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly numerate with an analytical mind-set and attentive to detail Strong administrative skills Bilingual language skills a plus Interviews are happening now!
