Plan, coordinate, and execute activities involved in purchasing materials, products, and services to meet customer requirements on time.
Responsible for sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best value.
Conduct meetings with suppliers, communicating material specifications, negotiating pricing, delivery commitments, resolving quality issues.
Coordinate international freight container and air shipments per terms.
Ensure proper replenishment of materials through manual and electronic systems enabling good inventory turns.
Calculate Min and Max Kanban levels and determine triggers to ensure proper replenishment of materials through manual and electronic systems.
Establish standardized work instructions for purchasing and data accuracy in ERP system.
Maintain accurate customer and part number setup in ERP system.
Communicate and proactively find solutions to shipping delays and communicate delivery issues with Production, Project Management, and Sales.
Establish effective communications, good relations, and positive images with vendors, promoting courtesy, objectivity, and fairness.
Including main international suppliers.
Support and follow all safety practices.
Maintain accurate records of company purchases.
Reconcile invoicing issues with Account Payable.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by direct manager.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of "hands-on" Purchasing experience within a Manufacturing environment.
2-4 years of Planning experience a plus.
Window and door experience is a plus.
Experience negotiating with vendors is essential.
Experience with Inventory Control systems.
ERP systems experience.
Sage 300 knowledge a plus.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel a must.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
