Runnings has a career opportunity for a Buyer's Assistant in our Retail Support Center. We are looking for energetic individuals with excellent analytical skills who are interested in an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will be focused in the Apparel category and will report to the Apparel Buyer. The Buyers Assistant is responsible for the basic replenishment, re-buying and managing of inventory. This position utilizes previous experience and judgment as a basis for planning and accomplishing goals in a variety of tasks. The Buyer's Assistant works under the general supervision of a Buyer. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Pay range is $16.00 - $19.00/hour depending on experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RETAIL BUYER Assists the Buyers in all areas of merchandise procurementEnters and transmits Purchase Orders into the systemMonitors purchase orders to assure timely and satisfactory deliveryContacts suppliers to expedite delivery, when necessaryResolves any receiving or invoice discrepancies that may ariseUtilizes sufficient writing/verbal skills to clearly communicate issuesBuild relationships and maintains contact with stores and vendorsOther responsibilities as called uponSkill Set Requirements: Positive attitude and willingness to learnExcel in a fast paced, evolving work environmentStrong computer skills, especially a working knowledge of ExcelExcellent oral and written skillsJob Position Statistics: Knowledge of turnover, profit margin, and sales in respective departmentCustomer service experts, able to answer questions from our internal and externalCustomers.
