The Cable Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cable systems, including data, telecommunication, and television cables. The technician will work to ensure that cables are installed and maintained efficiently and safely, meeting company standards and customer expectations.
\n ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, and maintain various types of cables, including coaxial, fiber optic, and Ethernet cables for residential and commercial systems.Ensure proper routing, termination, and labeling of cables in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.Perform cable testing to ensure signal strength, quality, and performance.Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with cable systems, identifying faults and making repairs as needed.Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and customers to ensure smooth and timely installations and services.Provide excellent customer service by explaining installation processes, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.Maintain inventory of materials and tools, ensuring all necessary equipment is available for each job.Document installations, repairs, and service calls, keeping accurate records of work completed.Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while performing cable installation and maintenance tasks.Assist with the setup and testing of communication equipment and devices as part of the installation process. QualificationsAssociate's Degree; technical certification in cable installation or related field is a plus.Previous experience in cable installation or a related technical field is preferred.Basic knowledge of various cable types (coaxial, fiber optic, Ethernet, etc.) and associated installation techniques.Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain cable systems.Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to customers.BICSI Installer 1 CertificationActive Secret Clearance
