Element has an opportunity for a Calibration Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in Warren, MI. Element Warren has supported growth and innovation for over 100 years and has become one of the leading automotive testing laboratories in the United States. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Perform routine calibration of battery cyclers, fluid chillers, and environmental chambers Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities Evaluate and troubleshoot non-operational instruments. Coordinate with outside repair laboratories Create, maintain, and execute calibration procedures for various instrumentation and equipment Maintain calibration and repair schedules, and monitors average lead-time. Participate in audits by internal and external bodies Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory Work to ISO 17025 guidelines 3+years of working experience as a Calibration Engineer Working knowledge of laboratory safety Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline Possess a Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element's business In-depth understanding of testing concepts Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed Possess strong computer skills #LI-TF1
