CALL TO ARTISTS: The Art of Food and Everything About ItSebastopol Center for the Arts announces a Call To Artists for an upcoming exhibition The Art of Food and Everything About It.
Exhibition Theme: After air, food is the most important thing in our lives and is expressed in seemingly infinite ways around the world. This exhibition seeks to revere food and everything associated with it, from growing it to eating it, from storing it to wasting it, and anything that evokes it. Entries are sought in any medium, both 2D and 3D. Jurors include a famous San Francisco Bay Area Michelin star chef with a strong artistic sense and a multi-media Bay Area artist with a strong sense of food as an art form.
Medium & Dimensions: All mediums including oil, watercolor, fiber, pastel, or acrylic are encouraged. Photography, drawings in charcoal, color pencil, or graphite, as well as sculptures and vessels in permanent materials such as clay, bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, resin, or wood are accepted. Electronic creations should include the means of storing and displaying the artwork. Please note that no giclée prints will be accepted unless the artwork was originally digitally created. In order to promote artists currently creating in the community, we are asking for work produced in the last 3 years.
Open to artists worldwideMaximum of 3 pieces (artwork) per artistWall hung work may not exceed 6' height x 4' widthWall-mounted work needs to include fixtures and be ready to hang. 2D work should be framed, recommended using d-rings, wired with no slack one-third from the top of the piece.All work must be original (no reproductions of original artwork)All work must not have been previously shown in the SebArts Gallery.
