The Computational Video and Machine Learning team develops the camera pipelines and innovative algorithms for Apple's mobile devices, including the iPhone and iPad. Combining innovative algorithms with optimized implementations, our team delivers the quality and features which help to redefine mobile videography. Description
In this role, you will lead a team of camera software engineers, building the bridge between cutting-edge machine learning research and productization. You will guide your team in designing and implementing state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms that power new high-impact Apple products and features, running on millions of devices. Leveraging your extensive GPU programming experience, you will oversee the optimization of render and compute pipelines for real-time performance. You will emphasize the importance of meticulous planning and focused execution to ensure timely delivery of innovative solutions. Additionally, you will manage cross-functional projects and collaborate closely with diverse teams across Apple to bring research-driven innovations to market.
Proven ability to effectively lead and inspire a team, driving successful outcomes through clear communication, strategic vision, and strong team collaboration.
Strong GPU coding skills (OpenGL/OpenCL/Metal).
Experience with concurrent architectures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to work hands-on in multi-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Substantial prototyping experience (preferably Python).
Extensive production programming experience (preferably Objective-C/C++).
Practical experience in developing algorithms for image or video processing.
Fundamental understanding of camera systems and sensors.
MSc in Computer Science or a related field (mathematics or physics), with 3 years of industry experience.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
