Job Purpose: The Camp Director at Lahontan Golf Club is responsible for overseeing the operations of Camp Lahontan, managing amenities such as pools, courts, and fields. This role involves creating programs across all seasons for both youth and adults, including sports, crafts, and special events. The Director is responsible for staffing, budget management, and policy development, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all Camp Lahontan activities, ensuring a high level of member satisfaction.Host and coordinate all special events at the Camp.Develop and manage the operating budget for all Camp programs.Collaborate with outside vendors to enhance member enjoyment through innovative programming.Ensure effective orientation and training for all new staff, with a strong emphasis on safety.Oversee supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, and resolving issues.Anticipate long-term staffing needs and develop strategies accordingly.Create and maintain an operating manual, including policies and procedures.Coordinate special events and member events in collaboration with other department heads, including the Lodge Manager, Executive Chef, Golf Professional, and Tennis Professional.Develop a year-long calendar of events for Camp programs.Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and compliance of the pool, spa, and locker room areas with Placer County Health Department standards.Coordinate youth programs, including day hikes, crafts, recreation programs, child-care, swimming lessons, golf lessons, and special monthly interests.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent, or 4-10 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Must pass a LiveScan background check.Requires ability to obtain a Class B (chauffeur license) California driver's license within 9 months of employment and have a clean driving record.Requires a Lifeguard certification or the ability to obtain one.CPR and first aid certification recommended for authorized child-care providers.Previous management experience in a similar role, with experience in hiring and supervising year-round staff and seasonal workers.Extensive background in recreation management, including creating budgets, ordering supplies, staff recruitment, training, and supervision.Experience in special event planning, adult and children's programming, and swim program management.Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to pools and children's programs.Strong analytical and interpretive skills for business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations.Proficient in report writing, business correspondence, and creating procedure manuals.Effective presentation skills for engaging with managers, clients, customers, and the public.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.Demonstrated good character, integrity, flexibility, and adaptability.Enthusiasm, a sense of humor, patience, and self-control are essential.Join Our Team: At Lahontan, you'll be part of a community that values respect, creativity, and professionalism.
