Position Type: Technology/Computer Technician Date Posted: 10/15/2024 Location: District Wide Campus Technician Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Technology, to provide customer service to end users including employees, students, and parents, and maintain the school district's computer and network equipment in operating condition, meeting the technology needs of the district; troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software, and resolving immediate computer operational problems.
Essential Performance Responsibilities Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to, and use of resources on the network.
Attends staff meetings to report on and resolve recurrent user technology problems.
Installs and supports computers and other technology devices to ensure maximum uptime and user engagement.
Support Microsoft, Apple, Virtual and Mobile technologies.
Support Bring Your Own Device environments efficiently and securely with excellent customer focus.
Provide support for other technologies in the classroom such as mobile devices, and projectors.
Knowledge of wired and wireless technologies.
Understanding of web and cloud technologies.
Knowledge of scripting and basic programming fundamentals.
Oversee computer asset & software inventory management.
Create innovative ways of efficiently handling user service issues with a focus on excellent customer service.
Creates solid solutions to issues that support the goals of both the organization and the users.
Help ensure that computing environments have minimal downtime, and provide engaging user experience by collaborating with others on the team.
Maintain accurate and current documentation of all areas of responsibility.
Must have good written and verbal communications.
Installs and maintain computer operating systems, application software, and related computer equipment.
Inspects computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer repair and troubleshooting for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs.
Provides technical support to users of hardware and software.
Trains selected individuals for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use computer systems and new or existing software.
Coordinates computer and network-related repair requests.
Assists in record-keeping regarding the functioning and inventory of the school district's computers and related equipment, repairs, etc.
Assists in making recommendations regarding the purchase of new computers, software, and related equipment.
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Travel Requirements: Travel to school district locations to repair hardware, install software and assist end users.

Qualifications Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School diploma.
Related college or technical school coursework.
Documented training in computer hardware, software and network use, troubleshooting and repair.
Applicable technology certifications preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Significant successful related experience in computer and network installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
FLSA: non-exempt PAESPA bargaining unit position; 260 days/yr, 7.5 hours per day; Hourly rate commensurate with experience and qualifications: $26 $32/hr
