American Express' Internal Audit Group (IAG) has reinvented our audit process and is leading the financial services industry with our Audit NextGen and Auditor of the Future initiatives. Each uniquely support our Winning Aspiration to be a world class internal audit function that:

How will you make an impact in this role?
Participate as a key team member onanaudit teamtosupportIAG inits Audit NextGen objectives, including but not limited:
Assistin the ideation and development ofimpactful and high-quality analytic control tests
Assistteam leaders, senior managers / managers, and senior auditors in accomplishing auditobjectivesin a team environment
Collaborate with audit teams to understand the data behind key processes, risks, and controls to develop analytic control tests and analyze and interpret their results
Developdata literacy skillsthrough ongoing professional development
Those joining IAG for the summer internship willdevelop theirAuditor of the Future (AotF)skillsthrough a dataanalytics focused project working with one of ourauditteams.
During your internship, youwilllearnabouthow to audit business processes with data,the American Express business model, andauditmethodologythroughhands-on, data driven workexperience.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a full-timeBachelor'sdegree program
Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
PreferredQualifications
Relevant financial services industryawarenessand an understanding of related products, services,and/orfeatures
Desire to develop technology audit and data literacy skills (e.g., technology and data that drives American Express industry leading business processes)
Pursuing aBA, BS, or equivalent degree ininformation systems, data analytics or information technologyrelated field; background inaccounting or financewould be a plus
Desire andcapacitytobreak-downa complex problem into components, solve them using data analysis, process knowledge and risk/control knowledge, and communicate data analysis, issues and control recommendations with transparency and integrity
Strong written and verbal communication skills that deliver quality, actionable and beneficial feedback to management on potential control issues and solutions to close gaps
Effectively works within a team and across teams in a fast-paced environment to drive business results,utilizingrelated project management skills, employing creative thinking, and the ability to work on competing priorities
Experience withdata visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableauandbasic coding skillspreferred

Salary Range: $24.05 to $63.00 hourly + sign-on bonus
