Details of the offer

Join our cancer enterprise at Cedars-Sinai Cancer during a transformational period of growth and impact. Cedars-Sinai is a hub for biomedical research and a top 10 academic medical center for NIH funding with over $200M in extramural research grant funding. As the largest academic medical center in the western United States, Cedars-Sinai Cancer is currently ranked #14 nationally by U.S. News & World Report in 2024-2025. Cedars-Sinai Cancer is looking for a nationally recognized investigator to join us as a faculty member in the Cancer Prevention and Control Program.
The Cancer Prevention and Control Program at Cedars-Sinai Cancer invites applications for full-time Faculty Members at the Full, Associate or Assistant level. We are seeking collaborative individuals with an active research program in the broad discipline of cancer prevention and control.  This can include but not be limited to interventional research, epidemiology, screening and early detection, survivorship, behavioral/implementation sciences, and health delivery sciences.  Individuals with research activities related to cancer screening, risk factors (HPV, tobacco, alcohol and obesity) and cancers of the colorectum, prostate, liver, lung, pancreas, skin (melanoma) and breast are encouraged to apply.
About The Cancer Prevention and Control Program
The Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) Program currently includes 30 program members who have expertise across epidemiology, drug and lifestyle interventions, genetics, psychology, rehabilitation oncology, molecular biology, health disparities and genomics. The CPC Program fosters a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment in which members have access to exceptional, state-of-the-art core facilities, unique cohorts (e.g., the Molecular Twin Initiative and the OncoBank include annotated blood and tumor biospecimens from >5,000 patients with cancer), training grants and clinical scholars' programs, developmental funds, interaction with other research programs including the outstanding Cancer Biology and Cancer Therapeutics programs, and a formal network of hospital affiliations serving the Greater Los Angeles area. The newly established Department of Computational Biomedicine works closely with CPC to apply computational and statistical methods in artificial intelligence platforms, computational biology and translational bioinformatics. Members may also align with research focus areas in the Center for Integrated Research on Lifestyle and Center and the Cancer Research Center for Health Equity.

In addition to a large patient population within the Cedars Sinai Cancer Clinical Programs, the Greater Los Angeles and its surrounding communities comprise one of the largest and most diverse populations in the United States.  This includes Hispanic/Latinx/a/e/o, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, South Asian, African American, Jewish American, Pacific Islanders, LGBTQ and non-Hispanic White and semi-rural communities – each with unique cancer burdens and unaddressed cancer research needs.  As the CPC program grows, priority areas for faculty recruitment are focused on identifying individuals whose research is positioned to address the immediate and future cancer needs of these communities.
