About the Job: Cancer Therapy Nurse Manager / Bone Marrow Transplant This pivotal managerial position is situated at the forefront of cancer treatment and advances in cellular therapies, particularly focusing on bone marrow transplants. Our facility, a leading national cancer center located in San Francisco, CA, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Cancer Therapy Nurse Manager to oversee the comprehensive delivery of patient care within our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cellular Therapy program. This role is essential for managing inter-disciplinary teams, ensuring clinical excellence, and driving continuous improvement in patient outcomes through evidence-based practices, compliance with regulatory standards, and cutting-edge health management strategies.

Compensation: $240,000 - $250,000 per annum plus bonuses, full benefits, and paid relocation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the operations of BMT and Cellular Therapy services including nursing, patient and ancillary care services, laboratory, and radiology services. Manage the coordination of the care delivery, ensuring that it meets the established standards of quality, care, and compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Collaborate with various healthcare professionals to innovate care delivery systems which meet the evolving needs of BMT and Cellular Therapy patients. Direct and evaluate the work of HBC Nurse Coordinators, Practice Coordinators, and Unrelated Search Coordinator ensuring compliance and performance metrics are met. Engage in rigorous performance improvement initiatives to refine patient care protocols based on the analytical evaluation of existing practices. Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff and engage directly in the professional development of team members. Active involvement in Quality Management activities within the Hematology/Bone Marrow Transplant (HBC) programs. Drive interdepartmental coordination between inpatient, outpatient services, and external healthcare providers to ensure a continuum of care for patients. Uphold the highest level of patient and family satisfaction through meticulous attention to service quality and patient engagement. Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California or licensure in relevant clinical specialty. Active American Heart Association CPR Certification. At least five years of experience as a registered nurse with a minimum of three years in Hematology/BMT/Cellular Therapies. At least two years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a matrixed academic medical setting. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, healthcare accreditation standards, and licensing requirements. Exceptional organizational, leadership, and management capabilities, able to lead and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals. Preferred Qualifications: Certification as BMTCN (ONCC) preferred. Master's Degree in Nursing. Exposure to TJC and FACT accreditation surveys. Two or more years of experience as a BMT/Cellular Therapy nurse coordinator in an academic setting. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and team leadership. Strong ability to manage change, integrating the latest medical technologies and practices into existing systems. Proven expertise in developing care protocols and managing through a patient-centered care approach. Adept in healthcare IT systems relevant to patient care management and record keeping. Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative to improve patient care services.
