Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Cardiology Office – Chesapeake Full-time
The Cardiac Registered Nurse provides collaborative care to provide safe, comprehensive clinical care in the outpatient cardiology office setting.
Hours/Shift: Full-time – Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week, No nights or weekends
Responsibilities: Position includes both direct patient care and clinical calls (incoming/outgoing) calls with patients to complete triage/phone assessments, review of cardiac testing/labs results and medical treatment plans as prescribed by the providerDirect patient care includes nurse visits for:Blood pressure follow-upMedication ReviewEKG performance and reviewWalk-in, symptomatic patientsCross-training opportunities include:Cardiac Stress Testing performanceHeart Monitor applicationCoumadin ClinicAssisting Ultrasound Technicians administer bubble studies and enhanced echo imaging agentsEnters data in the EMRProvides patient educationOther activities and responsibilities as directedJob Requirements: RN-Diploma (non-degree), RN-Associate's Degree or RN-Bachelor's Level DegreeActive, unrestricted nursing license and able to practice in the Commonwealth of VirginiaCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferredComputer literate; prior experience with the use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferredCardiac experience strongly recommendedStrong organizational and analytical skillsMust have the ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers.Strong interpersonal and patient care skillsThe Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
