Job DescriptionA Little More About What You Will be DoingThe Cardio Sonographer III acts as a working lead for Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation in our Cardiology and Cardiovascular clinics and supports patient care by performing echo & doppler cardiovascular procedures as directed by the physician. Demonstrates proficiency with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.Reviews images for quality assurance. Retrieves studies from PACS for reviewAssures CSMCF Sonographers are following safe practicesCommunicates performance expectations to CSMCF Sonographer and maintains Competency checklists and evaluate CSMCF Sonographer's competency level annuallyOrients and coaches staff Sonographers and temp Sonographers on sonography equipment and systems as neededAssists with PACS quality assuranceAssists Imaging Team with process improvement initiativesUses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician requestPerforms a range of technical procedures to support physician's diagnosisKnowledgeable about advanced imaging enhancements on ultrasound system features for purposes of capturing dataAppropriately acquires echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physicianVerifies the physician's order as appropriate to the patient's symptomsEnsures IAC Standards and Guidelines are followedMonitors the status on equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, gathers data on equipment malfunction and associated down time.
