Responsibilities include inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services.14-county referral base with a 250,000 population draw area.Local hospital has physician-staffed ED & hospitalist services.Full range of cardiology services including non-invasive, invasive, interventional, and EP working together with cardiac surgery and vascular surgery services.Training opportunities with the cardiology fellowship program.General call 1:8 with fellows taking first call duties.The physicians and staff are committed to providing patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of cardiovascular disease and the promotion of good health.
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Evaluates patients, reviewing and interpreting health history, conducting physical exams, and reviewing laboratory, x-ray, and other test reports to determine diagnosis.Develops and implements treatment plans based on evaluation results and provides education to patients.Communicates findings and treatment plans to patients, family members, and referring physicians, ensuring understanding of information.Recognizes abnormal patient responses to treatment, surgery, and/or medication, implementing corrective actions as appropriate.Documents all aspects of care provided and completes necessary paperwork for payment assurance.Participates in the outreach clinic schedule as assigned.Participates in the call coverage rotation.Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and materials, and by attending seminars and conferences.This is an exciting opportunity for a general Cardiologist to enjoy an excellent quality of life, team camaraderie, and a community of friendly neighbors, while working alongside highly trained physicians and support staff.
