Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of cardiology experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is preferred.
Prior cardiac nursing experience or experience during rotations is also helpful.
For recent graduates, significant cardiology exposure during training is preferred.
Training in electrocardiogram interpretation is preferred.
Board Certified.
Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License.
National certification required.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) - Required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required.
Epic electronic medical record experience preferred.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences to create an effective and congenial working environment.
Job Summary: The Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work with a group of general cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and interventional cardiologists to care for adult cardiovascular patients.
Your role will include evaluating patients with cardiovascular symptoms or known cardiovascular illnesses, educating patients and their families/social support, choosing appropriate diagnostic testing, and treating cardiovascular conditions using evidence-based medicine.
Common conditions you will encounter and treat include congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and atrial fibrillation.
You may also participate in cardiac stress testing, basic cardiovascular procedures, and/or cardiovascular research.
This position will primarily involve patient care in the outpatient setting, though inpatient work may be incorporated into the role.
Your role will include opportunities for progressive independence in patient evaluation and management, as well as physician support responsibilities in the areas of triage, patient education, and post-visit patient support and communication.
The ideal applicant will feel comfortable in both "physician extender" and "independent practitioner" roles.

Salary range: $175,000 - $225,000 commensurate with experience.
