**Description** ** _Summary:_**The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for the comfortand well-being of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) prepares equipment andassists physician during examinations and treatments. The Registered Nurse(RN) administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, andmonitors patient vital signs. The Registered Nurse (RN) observes and maintainsrecords on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.The Registered Nurse (RN) participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, ateam member or team leader in the planning and implementing of patient care.The Registered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptictechnique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offers leadership anddirection to all support staff within department.6NT is a 36 - private bed unit specializing in cardiac care for patients whohave had open heart surgery. We see cardiovascularthoracic patients that arepost-CABG, heart caths, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and many othercardiothoracic surgical procedures. We also see general medical-surgicalpatients that may have a primary cardiac diagnosis or history withcomorbidities that may need telemetry monitoring, as well as those patientsneeding critical cardiac drips. On 6NT, we train our staff to detect medicalissues before they become a problem, so they can respond to those emergentsituations quickly and confidently. We have many opportunities forassessments, patientfamily teaching, IVs, wound care, lab value analysis andmedication administration management. We encourage communication andcollaboration in an environment that is engaging and rewarding for our healthcare professionals, as well the patients on our unit.**_Requirements:_****EducationSkills** * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care **Experience** * One-year experience in nursing preferred.**Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications** * Current Texas State RN License * CPR (American Heart Association) * ACLS required within 6 months of hiretransfer date * EKG within 90 days of hiretransfer * NIHSS within 90 days of hiretransfer**_Work Type:_**Part Time **EEO is the law - click below for more information:**We endeavor to make this site accessible to any and all users.
