Cardiovascular Technician

Cardiovascular Technicians, also knownas EKG Technicians, use electrocardiograms to monitor a patient's heartactivity as a way of diagnosing and treating heart disease.

Duties
Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms
Position and apply electrodes as appropriate
Connects leads from the electrocardiograph machine to electrodes on specified body areas
Review patient records and instructs patients prior to procedures
Monitor patients during procedures and report any findings
Identify and correct wandering, interference, and artifact
Recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images
Edit and forward results to the attending physician for analysis and interpretations
Assist physician during invasive procedures
Maintains EKG equipment and supplies
Supports and executes the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively
Represents themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community
Adheres to dress code with a clean and neat professional appearance
Reports on time and as scheduled to complete work within designated time
Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, Employees Agreement, or communicated from the executive team
Requirements

High School Education, Associates Degree preferred
6 months experience as an EKG technician or Cardiovascular Tech
Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant Program
Must be able to communicate effectively
Stand and walk for long periods of time
Must be capable of transferring/lifting/carrying greater than 35 pounds with assistance
