Position Description:Nevada Gold Mines is looking for an Environmental professional to join the Environmental group at Carlin. The successful candidate will perform a variety of technical and administrative work to ensure that legal and other compliance obligations related to air quality permits and programs are achieved.Responsibilities:Work closely with site personnel to ensure compliance to Title V, Class II, and MOPTC permits. Maintain and contribute to improvement of sustainable systems to ensure air compliance at all times within the organization. Prepare for inspections of operations to ensure permit compliance including accompanying regulatory inspectors on periodic inspections of work areas on the mine site. Schedule and oversee source testing activities, as assigned. Prepare semi-annual and annual compliance reports, as assigned. Manage contractor work, as applicable. Assist operating division personnel in achieving their objectives. Assist with training of Barrick employees, contractors, and others. Responsible for periodic, after hours on-call response to environmental incidents, as needed. This position requires the ability to regularly walk over uneven, sloped, rocky, wet or icy ground and the ability to lift 40 or more pounds consistently and safely. Perform other duties as assigned.
