Tyndale is hiring for a Category Manager who will be responsible for management and oversight of all aspects of vendor relations.
This role will ensure we are receiving the best price, quality and delivery for all goods and services and that all quality standards are consistently met.
The Category Manager role will be collaborative, working with all internal departments, as well as managing independent daily responsibilities.
HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance.
This opportunity requires onsite work a minumum of 2* days a week, and 3 days a week remotely*.
To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County) or our location in Houston, TX for onsite work as needed.
Responsibilities Perform periodic analysis of all goods and services to ensure best pricing, service, and delivery. Provide pricing for bids/ assure competitive sourcing procedures are followed for all goods and services.
Identify and implement alternate cost saving initiatives.
Monitor, analyze and share vendor price increases/adjustments with appropriate parties. Source and manage products in assigned categories.
Become highly knowledgeable with all items and services within assigned categories. Identify and implement alternate cost saving initiatives with assigned vendor.
(Cost of goods, rebates, delivery terms, payment terms, growth incentives, etc.
) Gather, verify, and file required test reports, documents, and labels for all new products and maintain and update appropriate reports documents for existing products. Resolve any issues that arise with suppliers, identify root cause to avoid repeat situations. Create and implement procedures for tracking monthly / yearly cost savings for each vendor. Develop and implement regular vendor monitoring interview schedule for current vendors to evaluate product, service quality and delivery.
Prepare quarterly vendor scorecards. Coordinate Buyer activities assuring appropriate discounts are taken. Coordinate with internal departments to identify vendor deficiencies and collaborate with vendors to implement corrective actions. Select, and if needed, change vendors based on vendor performance and competitive bidding practices.
