Job Summary

Develop and execute logistics strategies to mitigate costs and support sourcing initiatives, leveraging synergies across the enterprise, and driving a "One Supply Chain" philosophy. Plan and implement activities for timely cost-effective procurement, compliance, and on-time delivery of products. Prioritize and maintain balance between cost of shipments, service level, and inventory to maximize return on investment including methodologies to maximize working capital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Freight Management
Develop strategic freight programs with domestic and international suppliers
Manage 3PL relationship and performance
Analyze data to reduce costs and leverage the size of the enterprise
Support BU needs that require corporate intervention
Develop a logistics roadmap that includes creating and implementing a centralized distribution network and compliance program
Work closely with BU functional leads and JBPCO Category Mangers to develop domestic and international freight programs/strategies
Assist in HTS classification and maintenance of HTS database including opportunities to reclassify for duty minimization
Conduct data analysis to identify waste and develop future state
Track and report compliance of enterprise freight initiatives via scorecards
Monitor changes in the global trade market, quantify impacts, and develop mitigation strategies
Monthly reviews with BU's to review MOM and YTD metrics
Conduct RFP's for transportation services and conduct QBR's with service providers to review performance (on-time delivery, freight claims, etc.)
Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned or needed.

Process Responsibilities
Create and implement an import/export compliance program and manual for the enterprise
Facilitate center of gravity and heat map studies
Conduct training and auditing at each BU ensuring adherence to programs and customs compliance
Develop best practices and SOP's with shipping/receiving department leads at each BU
Request and evaluate proposals of domestic and international carriers/services
Develop and manage relationships with 3PL, carriers, NVOCC, freight forwarders, etc.
Identify Customs programs that reduce international shipping charges
Develop consolidation strategies to capitalize economies of scale
Perform and/or evaluate root cause analysis and resolution for all freight related issues and ensure the integrity of corrective actions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to travel 25-50%
Thorough knowledge of customs programs, compliance, and trade agreements
Extensive knowledge of all transportation modes (LTL, Flatbed, IMDL, air cargo, etc.)
Distribution modeling and management
Strong foundation in global logistics, materials management, and category management
Project management skills
Ability to manage long lead-time product deliveries in support of production
Working knowledge of planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously at various locations
Change management
Working knowledge of continuous improvement - Lean Principles and Six Sigma
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
Previous ERP/MRP and TMS experience
Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiating skills
Excellent communication skills, written & verbal

Education and/or Experience
8 - 10+ years related experience in a Logistics or Supply Chain role related to freight
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, Master's Degree preferred
Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred
License customs broker or relevant certification is preferred
Freight management in a Manufacturing/Engineered Product environment
Experience shipping Hazmat materials
Experiencing negotiating warehouse, NVOCC, and transport service agreements
Experience implementing domestic and international logistics strategy
Experience in global procurement/sourcing
Educated in customs compliance and experience implementing a program
Lean manufacturing experience
