Join Meyer Natural Foods as a Cattle Buyer/procurement - EAST COAST Region Overview of the Cattle Buyer Position:This is a hands-on, full-time position performing day-to-day duties, including handling the daily activities associated with Natural feedlots and ranches, including purchase contracts, affidavits, and all other paperwork associated with procuring cattle. Cattle Buyers help serve as the eyes and ears of the Company. Our cattle buyers must be honest and upstanding individuals for our company to have the highest level of integrity. Cattle Buyers must support all divisions of the Company, such as ranch tours and education seminars. These functions allow the management team to make the best decisions for the Company. What will you do?Develop a network of cattle producers by using professional communication, technology, and cattle knowledge that supports the Company's core values and provides the highest quality in compliance for long-term sustainability.Procure Cattle in a way that accurately matches demand and budget costs.Responsible for obtaining all necessary affidavits, contracts, and paperwork associated with procuring cattle.Communicates with producers on all fronts to maintain strong relationships.Reviews and analyzes data to maintain consistent and high-quality cattle.Review all aspects of cattle department procedures and related documents to ensure compliance with the cattle acquisition program requirements.Recommends updates to the Cattle Procedure Manual (Protocol) to ensure compliance and further strengthen the program.Selects/sorts cattle for harvest and collects all related documents.Support, inform, and assist SVP Operations, Cattle procurement team, Director of Operations, cattle buyers, and Compliance Officer.Perform necessary paperwork as required (i.e., Compliance forms, break-even analysis, visit reports, expense reporting, etc.).Communicate any needs or issues immediately, responsible for understanding, tracking, managing cattle costs, and providing timely and meaningful reporting on these cattle's performance.See all Programs under the Meyer Natural Foods parent company to successful completion through detailed audits, and coordination & scheduling with producers and third party auditors, suppliers, and finishers.Assist with other duties as assigned.Do you have the education and experience for this role?A bachelor's degree in production ag, animal science, or a related field is preferred.7+ years of proficient understanding and working knowledge of cattle procurement and cattle feeding industry is required.Compensation: $115,000 to $149,500 (depending on experience) Do you possess these specialized Skills that make you a qualified candidate: Advanced knowledge of Excel and understanding of ERP systems (Canopy) and basic analytics.Can leverage day-to-day tactical goals to support/achieve the company's strategic position.Exceptional problem-solving skills.Strong knowledge of cattle markets, beef markets, and beef pricing.Ability to collaborate with varying individuals in a dynamic environment while multi-tasking.Capable of handling high-stress situations.Must be on call often outside of normal business hours and on weekends.Must have a clean driving record, maintain current vehicle insurance, and be able to pass insurability guidelines for drivability.Closing Date: 10/30/2024 Benefits: For Full-Time eligible employees (not temporary positions), offering of Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employer paid Life Insurance/STD/LTD, Paid Time Off Vacation, Sick, and Holiday leave.
