Sick of the yellow bus?We are seeking Part time shuttle drivers for work in Smithfield, RI.This posting is for a PT driver to work either 7am-10am OR 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday driving at Bryant University. We will consider staff seeking 2, 3, or 5 of these shifts per week.Shuttles operate when school is in session. Outside of school being in session, work is available at other locations nearby.This role starts at $22/hour, with overtime available, and charter runs also available (which include gratuities). We pay weekly.The vehicle is a walk-on 25-passenger shuttle that is cleaned and maintained regularly.Must be over 20, customer service experience is a must!A valid CDL B or higher with passenger endorsement is required.A valid medical card is also required (we can assist if needed). Background checks and driving tests will be conducted.Shuttle Driver- Job DescriptionThe job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we canSafely shuttling customers to various destinationsOpening and closing doors for patronsAdhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttlesCommunicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendantsCompleting required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirementsRecording passenger counts and trip timesCompleting necessary paperwork involved in daily operationsAssisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanlinessCommunicating mechanical problems with shuttles to managementComplying with company procedures for shuttle operationsVPA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
