Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Duties: Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and standards Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries and adhering to Agencies Courteously interacts with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests Works safely and follows safe operating practices, including lock out/tag out procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck, abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
Completes and submits the vehicle condition report at the end of the shift Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied Maintains and submits a DOT logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report (post-trip inspection sheet) as required by law or company policy Uses a key map and GPS to locate service addresses Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers or businesses in a safe, timely manner Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of DOT regulations, commercial driver's license rules and regulations Experience of Single and Tandem Axle Day Cab, Straight Truck, Dump Truck, Flat bed, End Dump, Forklift, Strapping and Tarping Genuine care to courteously interact with customers and general public on a daily basis Strong attention and compliance rate to all safety operating practices Ability to work in a physical labor position in indoor/outdoor environments Minimum qualifications: Required: Valid Commercial Missouri Driver's License, Class A Required: Medical Examiner's Certificate - As required by the Department of Transportation Required: Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Required: Minimum of one-year verifiable CDL driving experience or a certificate of completion from an accredited truck driving school Required: Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to DOT and Company standards Highly Preferred: Manual driving experience Highly Preferred: Working experience in plant industry or related fields, landscaping, garden centers, and/or nurseries Benefits you will Enjoy: Health, dental, and vision insurance 1st of the month after 30 days Generous 401k match with immediate vesting Company paid life insurance; STD, & LTD PTO and paid holidays Company culture centered around growth and innovation Career development & recognition
