Website: https://www.nnmc.com This Central Scheduler/Authorizations opportunity is full time and offers full benefits and a day shift schedule. We are looking for a dynamice Centralized Scheduler/Authorizations. You will be responsible for accurately performing the pre-access functions for scheduled patients, which includes scheduling outpatient diagnostic procedures and completing the pre-registration and insurance verification processes. Responsible for accurately performing verification of benefits for all hospital patients. Arranges for the efficient and orderly pre-admission of inpatients and outpatients, and appropriate follow up for emergency department admissions. Ensures that patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Job Duties/Responsibilities: * Maintains authorization a minimum of two weeks ahead of scheduled procedure date. * Verifies coverage eligibility and benefits for medical insurance through employer or organization. * Documents all insurance information completely and neatly specifying any timelines. * Notes any denials to the ordering physicians and office staff. * Notifies patients of authorization when complete and concurrent review for on a daily basis. Qualifications Requirements: * High school graduate or equivalent * Ability to type 40 wpm comprehensive general clerical skills and computer literacy required. Medical terminology preferred. * Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills required to communicate in a clear and concise manner, with staff, patients, administration and the public. * Basic knowledge of insurance billing helpful.
