Job Details Our Central Sterile Technician will: Be responsible for decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of reusable instrumentation and equipment according to established department policies and procedures.
Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.
Identify malfunctioning items, records related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer.
Communicate with perioperative staff regarding related instrument needs.
Transport sterile supplies to assigned surgical and clinical locations.
Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
Document and maintain records of daily activities according to department policies and procedures.
Adhere to AORN, AAMI and Joint Commission standards (e.g.
biological, chemical and mechanical monitoring) in the performance of duties.
What you'll bring: Prior experience processing surgical instruments/Central Sterile experience preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED required Certification: CRCST required Will consider candidates without certification, however, certification must be completed within 1 year of employment Salary Range USD $29.20 - USD $36.50 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
