JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

REPORTS TO: Director of Staffing Development
PURPOSE OF JOB POSITION
The primary purpose of this job position is to provide each of the assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and patient centered care plan, and as may be directed by the supervisor.
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY
A Certified Nursing Assistant is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out the assigned duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with the established policies and procedures, and as instructed by the supervisor to ensure resident's comfort and safety and that the highest degree of quality care is maintained.
Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing the assigned tasks.
Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
Treat residents fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Observe confidentiality and privacy.
Follow established safety procedures in the performance of all duties.
Operate machine and equipment in a safe manner and with the necessary assistance to complete the task.
Assist resident in activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, positioning, transferring, locomotion etc.
according established procedures and resident's patient centered care plan.
Serve meals and bedtime snacks and record intake.
Monitor and record bowel movements, vital signs, weights and etc.
Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her patient centered care plan and wishes.
Report all changes in the resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as possible.
Collect specimens as instructed (i.e., urine, sputum, stools, etc.
)
Prepare residents and assist with transport as necessary for appointments, therapy, lab work, X-ray, social programs, etc.
Follow established infection control measures including but not limited to hand hygiene, use of PPE etc.
Inventory and mark the resident's personal possessions as instructed.
Coordinate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel as instructed to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents based on patient centered care plan.
Ensure that notes reflect that the patient centered care plan is being followed.
Ensure that the assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
Clean, disinfect, and return all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use.
Report all hazardous conditions, occupational exposures (to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals), safety violations, suspected abuse, complaints, grievance, etc.
Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certification as a Nursing Assistant.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate for this state.
Must possess a current CPR certification.
Basic Life Support [BLS] certification is a plus.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Physical and sensory requirements of this position, with or without the aid of mechanical devices include: Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine-hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to communicate with residents, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under emergency situations while dealing with multiple tasks
EXPERIENCE
No experience is necessary.
On-the-job training is provided.

FULL TIME NOC SHIFT (11PM-7AM)

4 ON 2 DAYS OFF
