Certified Medical Assistant

Overview Performs nursing care procedures involving initial patient assessment, evaluation, and preliminary testing to meet patient needs; assists Physician with the care of patient.

Qualifications Current CPR card.
Strong computer skills for documentation purposes in the electronic medical record.
Good nursing assessment and judgment skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work well with providers, nursing staff, and outside health care agencies and providers.
Ability to understand and explain instructions clearly to patients.
Knowledge of relevant equipment and procedures for effective healthcare operations.
Responsibilities Collects and documents patient data.
Assists physicians with patient care and procedures.
Coordinates patient care with physicians and families.
Performs blood draws, treatments, and screenings; administers medications and immunizations.
Maintains clean and well-equipped exam rooms and assists with inventory control.
Attends meetings, in-services, and continuing education classes.
Supports and maintains clinical standards.
Documents patient information and provides medication administration.
