Job Summary:
Provide supportive care in a medical detox and residential environment.
Serving as a medication aide upon passing a certification test in Kansas.
Collaborate with a passionate, dedicated team to ensure patients receive optimal nursing care at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities: Answer call lights and bells to determine client needs Assist clients with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care Assist clients with a range of motion exercises The movement to and from the bed as needed Obtain and record vital signs and intake and output as directed Communicate to the nursing team changes in clients' clinical condition Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, and personal interest, as well as a calm environment Demonstrate pride in the organization by keeping areas clean and safe Act decisively and quickly in emergencies Demonstrate ongoing responsibility and commitment through good attendance Performs duties in an ethical, legal, and caring manner Performs duties safely and effectively to ensure client comfort and welfare Respects client rights Protects confidential client information unless otherwise required to promote client safety and welfare Follows federal, state, and agency regulations to protect own health and that of others Seeks guidance from the nurse as needed to perform tasks safely and efficiently Dispense oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse unless otherwise allowed by state law.
Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses.
Performing tasks associated with medication administration, including patient vital signs, calculating medication dosages, and stocking the medication cart.
Recording medication administration according to agency procedure Perform other tasks/duties as assigned Required License(s)/Certification(s):Certified Nurse Assistant by Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services Health Occupations Credentialing BLS Provider credentialed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education/Experience/Qualification:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required Previous CNA experience preferred but not required Must have a current CNA certification.
Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work on deadlines Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times Previous Medication Aide experience
