We are searching for a Certified Nurse Midwife — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide independent midwifery services to patients but collaborate with the attending physician and interdisciplinary health team.
Skills & Requirements Graduation from a school of midwifery requiredRN - Registered Nurses and CNM - Certified Nurse-Midwife RequiredBachelor's degree in nursing PreferredAPN License, APN ACLS Cert, and ACLS NRP Cert PreferredJob Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain a caseload of patients based on practice goals and objectivesProvide direct clinical services and management of mothers and babies as defined in the Nurse Midwife Collaborative Guidelines of the practiceObtain patient health histories and complete physical examinationsDocument findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findingsOrder and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory testsPerform approved therapeutic procedures based upon the patient's clinical statusDocument patient preparation and response to procedure(s)Formulate and implement prenatal, intra-partum, postpartum, newborn and interconceptional care as defined by the nurse midwifery serviceExplain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patient, family and staffMaintain professional practice and developmentConsult and/or serve as an expert consultant to nursing, members of the healthcare team and to the larger communityAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
