Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of individuals in various healthcare settings.
CNAs work closely with registered nurses and other medical staff to deliver compassionate and efficient care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
•Patient Care:
•Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
•Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
•Provide mobility assistance and help patients with transfers.
•Communication:
•Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
•Report changes in patients' conditions to the supervising nurse.
•Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
•Support to Healthcare Team:
•Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in the development and implementation of care plans.
•Assist in maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.
•Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
•Safety and Infection Control:
•Follow established protocols for infection control and safety.
•Adhere to proper lifting and transfer techniques to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare providers.
•Observation and Reporting:
•Observe and report any changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions.
•Monitor and assist with medication administration as directed by the nursing staff.
•Professional Development:
•Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to maintain and enhance CNA skills.
•Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
•Certification: Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Connecticut.
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
•Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Compassion: Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
•Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
•Physical Stamina: Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and moving patients.
